The 205L models fill a niche in our lineup of bowriders, and they sport our next-generation Z-plane hull. No other boat manufacturer in the world has a hull with the design and performance characteristics of the patented Z-plane. Originally introduced in 1991, the unique Z-plane design has proven time and again through independent third-party comparison tests to outperform its peers. But at a company where "good enough" isn’t, Stingray has made good better.

As a result of Stingray's quest for better, the 205L rides on a modified Z-plane hull that features special contours to the running surface that extend beneath both sides of the integrated swim platform and create virtually three-point contact with the water at high speeds, delivering better handling and top speeds than previous versions of the hull design. Even when using an economic V-6 for power, the 205L will run as fast, or faster, than many comparable sized boats powered by pricey V-8s.

THINK ABOUT THAT. As fast or faster speeds with a smaller power option than the competition = less up front cost and better fuel efficiency, which translates to less operating cost. EVERYONE WILL AGREE; THAT IS A VERY GOOD THING!

The 205L isn't all about performance though. It features the latest in topside ergonomics. The creature comforts begin when you step onboard. An integrated, oversized swim platform leads to a companion walkway atop the sundeck in LR and LX models. A built-in step with removable filler cushion in the center of the bench provides easy access into the cockpit.

LS models feature a four-position, passenger lounge seat with fore and aft adjusters as a standard feature. LS models also feature hi-lo jump seats on each side of the fiberglass insulated motor box that provide a variety of uses for the same interior and quickly convert to a full-width sundeck. LR and LX models come standard with twin sport bucket seats and a bench seat or wrap-a-round seat, respectively.
